Designed in Dublin for the future of work.

Ergoji is a design-led furniture brand focused on building products that support modern ways of working and learning.

Humans are designed to move, but from a very young age, we spend most of our day sitting at furniture that supports right-angled, unnatural, seated postures. The concept for the Agile Desk was driven by the proven physical and psychological benefits of being able to transition between seated and standing postures. The idea was simple - to create a work surface that adjusts effortlessly to follow any posture in a flexible working or learning environment.

The Agile Desk is our first product. It was designed for Ergoji by John Walsh and Mark Ennis - lecturers in Product Design at the TU Dublin School of Creative Arts, with support from Enterprise Ireland. The design process started by investigating the needs of emerging ways of working and learning, and through the development and testing of several prototypes and collaboration with manufacturers in Ireland and Germany, ended with a product that is specifically designed to meet those needs.

“With hybrid models of work likely to continue, it’s important that we rethink how a desk can support remote workers in different kinds of living spaces, and how it can fit in with their lifestyle.”

Mark Ennis - Lecturer in Product Design, TU Dublin.
